One down, three to go

December 11, 2009

Despite my former ingenius invention of the word “STU-LIVE”, I realize that the word is just not quite as entertaining as the original slogan. Whilst angrily memorizing mechanisms by which bacteria synthesize their cell walls via peptide cross-linkages, I suddenly had great visions of a troop of students walking in to the PAC (large gym where we all write our ugly exams) wearing T-shirts like this:

And breaking out into dance and song amidst thousands of stressed-out students and uptight proctors.  Flash mob style.  I mean, don’t you honestly agree that it would be such a welcome prank?

See, I’m also into positive thinking.  Hence:

In fact, I love school so much that, after spending the entire day with my butt glued to the chair, I managed to walk into the exam room this evening wearing pretty much the same thing I was wearing when I woke up this morning.  All in the name of “Who has time to breathe/eat/sleep/change clothes/tuck in your over-sized white tee when you’re busy LOVING finals?!”

I know.  I’m a classy gal. What can I say.

I then proceeded to spent the next two hours of my life with the following expression temporarily fixed on my face:

Ahhh, yes.  It reads perplexity, fear, and pain – all in one go.  I told you, right?  I’m classy. Especially when I write exams.

(But seriously. Can 3-phosphoglycerate be used as a direct substrate in substrate level phosphorylation? I may never be able to sleep again.)

Unfortunately my friends, I have nothing else to show for.  My productivity for the day seems to have been summarized into bits and codes of non-tactile, non-visual, and overall non-tangible information. (This process is otherwise known as “learning”.)

I am starting to believe that there is a direct proportional relationship between academic productivity and twit-blog-facebook productivity.  And that relationship is negative.

I.e. Tweet less, study more.  Blog less, read more (textbooks, that is).

Which, at present, considering the parameters of what I am typing and what you are reading, goes to show that my current status of academic productivity is close to non-existent.  In fact, it may just not exist at all.

Fortunately, throughout this time, I have been kept Sane by Salad.

(But of course.)

Of note: I now understand why people use flax meal + water as an egg replacer in vegan recipes.  I decided to sprinkle some flax meal on my brussel sprouts this time, thinking it would add a “nutty crunch” to the salad.  Umm… yeah.  Try “un-nutty slime”.  So I guess I was wrong.

And now, my friends, for the very first time since this period of academic mayhem began (ie last week), I am hitting the sack before 2 AM! Woohoo! Peace out and gloriously geeky cookies,

Aletheia :)

    Your expression…= priceless hahaha ;)
I think you can easily become comedian (pardon me for being sarcastic, i know the pain of final exams too =()
Aletheia = a+ lethein (a=not + lethein =hidden), so aletheia just like the name says, is expressive, not hiding.
    Jia yo!

good to know about the flax topping – it works well on oatmeal, but i guess that’s because oatmeal’s already slimey

    you are a riot!

YES – brown eggs are much harder to peel. I thought it was just something I was doing wrong. Now, I am wonder if it is the whole brown egg thing.

Great blog lady! Have you ever tried salba on your salads? It’s a grain with a ton of protein, calcium and fiber while staying low in calories. I’ll have to try out the flax seed for a change! xxJenna
