About

Hi, my name is Aletheia Zoe Chiang.  Aletheia means “Truth” and Zoe means “Eternal Life”; both words were taken from the original text of the Bible, which was (for historian buffs out there) written in GREEK.

In May 2011, I graduated from the  University of Waterloo with a B. Sc in Biology, a specialization in Microbiology, and a minor in French Studies.

In general, I have always been a perceptive and pensive person.  I think a lot about life, but not so much in a philosophical way as in a sort of romantic-literary type way.  (I was a irreconcilable bookworm basically since birth.)  By God’s mercy, I have concluded by faith in the Son of the living One that actually, nothing matters more in this whole universe than seeing a vision of God’s eternal purpose, and carrying it out here on earth.

Oh yeah, and uh, I’m actually a major cat person.

(And if you like watching silent Aletheia-videos with Feist music playing in the background, indulge by clicking here.)

Wow. Waterloo – what a cool name for a place! And that is so cool that you are going to pursue naturopathic medicine. It’s such an extensive practice. I believe in holistic living as well. It’s true, once you start becoming more knowledgeable in holistic ideas, you see how everything really is connected. I know when I was getting acupuncture done I become so much more aware of my body and how things were connected.

Thanks for much for stopping by because now I discovered your blog! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the colorful eats :D

    XO

“All in all, I have this dominating zest for life.”

-What a fabulous sentence. Cheers to you, your effusive spirit, and your faith. And I have to give your parents credit for giving you a beautiful name, too.

Hi Aletheia! I just found your blog today, through Audrey’s. I love Jesus Christ too!
This is crazy – I came to this page after reading a few posts – you are studying what I am thinking about studying in college! (I’m currently in high school.) Biology and holistic medicine. For so long I’ve been clueless about my future/career plans, but I’ve been thinking science and medicine more and more.
What led you down this road, toward health (nutrition, exercise, etc.) and your studies?

Hi Aletheia — you have a beautiful name!!! I found your blog through Jessie at Happiness in Health after she posted about Greenola. I am SO intrigued. I love avocados and I love granola…but I’ve never thought about putting the two together!

Anyway, I’ve read a couple of your posts and I really do like your “everything” blog and your style of writing! :) I’ve added you to my reader and am excited to read more!

Aletheia you have a very special name and a very vibrant personality. I have done my BS in a homoepathic medicine which I guess is a small part of naturopathy and I am doing myPhD in Genome science of which Microbiology is a small part. Sorry if Iconfused you by now, by what I meant is we some what swapped our BS and graduate studies interests.

Hi! I was considering going to the Bastyr school as well! But now I am leaning to going to grad school (in two years…) at Berkeley or Cornell! I want to go into research and I was thinking the Bastyr school may be too specific/limited in that regard. But it clearly an amazing school. Whatever you do, I wish you the best!
